Una delle icone americane e' il Golden Gate Bridge, il ponte che attraversa la Baia di San Francisco. Oltre che essere una grandiosa opera d'ingegneria ed un'importante meta turistica, risulta essere anche il luogo che registra il maggior numero di suicidi al mondo. Il regista ha deciso cosi', di filmare nel 2004 le persone che ogni giorno attraversano il ponte, e tra queste anche qualcuna che ha scavalcato il parapetto.
