Un nuovo capolavoro era alle porte, Darkness on the Edge of Town. Questo film ne racconta la nascita grazie al materiale raccolto dal pluripremiato regista Thom Zimny. Nella convinzione di ricostruire un processo creativo irripetibile, Zimny assembla le prove e la registrazione, tra il 1976 e il 1978, di uno degli album piu' importanti della storia della musica: raramente le immagini hanno testimoniato con tale schiettezza ed evidenza il lavoro di un artista assorbito dalla propria musica come il suo corpo dalla propria linfa perche' il Boss manterra' la promessa'.
